Garlic Shishito Peppers

First ate this at California Pizza Kitchen. Then wanted to make this at home. It’s simply delicious. Few ingredients and a quick recipe and you have mouth watering dish in front of you.

Ingredients

20 Shishito Peppers

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

2 tablespoons soya sauce

Salt to taste

2 Garlic cloves

1 lemon

Wash the peppers. Make a long slit in the pepper and just remove the seeds.

Chop garlic fine.

Heat the frying pan, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil and stir fry the peppers. Halfway through add the garlic to the pan when you see the small blisters on the peppers. fry for another minute to get the flavour of the garlic. Add the sauces and stir fry. Check the salt. If needed add. The shishito peppers I got were hot so I added ½ lemon juice. They should be still crunchy. If you think the peppers haven’t absorbed the flavors yet, sprinkle some water and stir fry again. The sauce thicken in no time. Serve hot. It’s a good side dish with rice. Goes well with beer too.
